"The Perfect Model" encapsulates the essence of an inanimate object that is given personality and absurd aesthetics through the lens of black and white photography combined with sleek typographic treatment and design.
ABOUT THE PROJECT
The Perfect Model is part of a project in which I had to design for myself. It was an opportunity for complete creative freedom in design. No pressure and no excuses. I wanted to create a book that showcased my capabilities with photography but also showcased my abilities in graphic design.
The project began from a photography project where I lacked a model for portrait photography. I decided to use a drawing mannequin that I had laying around and began to pose it for pictures as my model and it was PERFECT!
Once I had a collection of portraits of my model, I began to generate a persona for him to embody. He was given a personality not only from the silly photography but also from his full versed opinionated self. He became an obnoxious, self confident, delusional, and pretentious model with A LOT of spunk and a lot to say. I utilized that to create typographic balance within the book to add back story to his captured moments.
